Javonni McGlaurin is a youth leader, world traveler, speaker and student.
Javonni is currently a graduating Senior at Hampton University with the field of study of Political Science and Spanish. She was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. She is currently an Intern and member of the International Youth Council (IYC) since 2010. The IYC provides educational resources, leadership opportunities, and a global network to support young people on a local, regional, and international level.

Through the IYC, Javonni has founded the “Think Globally, Act Locally” Initiative. A campaign carried out by the IYC, visiting universities around the nation to promote aspects of the global stage, such as, Study Abroad, Non-Governmental Organizations, United Nations and Careers in International Relations.

Javonni has been a key component at the 9th Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations. At this event she facilitated workshops on Gender Equality and Gender equality and Global Partnerships. Also, as a part of the YA, Javonni sat on the planning committee for the MDG Campaign Night, a evening event at the YA to promote Non profit organizations that directly work at completing one of the Millennium Development Goals.

Javonni’s traveling has included at least 20 states and more than 12 countries including, Grand Bahamas, Germany, Nicaragua, Italy, and Costa Rica. She has also had opportunities serving under notable members of Congress, Honorable Congressman William “Lacy” Clay Jr. and Senator Claire McCaskill. Javonni is currently writing articles focusing on the mainstream foreign affairs events.
